How to add Audio

Audio files accepted

These are the audio files that are accepted to upload:

MP3 (.mp3)

WAVE (.wav)

AAC (.aac)

For batch loading of audio files use Workbench.

How to Add an Audio File

1. Logged in, navigate to the collection where you want to add an Audio file. Click Children just above the name of the collection.

2. Click the Add Child button.

3. Click on Repository Item.

4. Click Audio from the Model drop-down menu. Fill in the name for the Title. Scroll down to Publication Details and Dates area to add a date if desired. Scroll down adding any other information. Scroll down to Type and Extent. Click on it.  Select Audio from the drop-down menu. Click the Save button.

Select Audio from Type

 

Click Save button

 

5. If you have a thumbnail to add to your audio file, click on Media. 

Click Media button

6. Next click the Add Media button.

7. Next click Image. 

Click Image from Add media item

8. Fill in the information. For the name, you can leave it as pre-filled, or you can rename it. Click on the Browse button to select the thumbnail. Under Media Use select Thumbnail Image. Click the Save button.  Now you have the thumbnail for the audio file.

Click Browse to select file and click Thumbnail Image

 

9. Click the Back to Site button.

10. Click on Media to add the audio file.

11. Click the Add Media button.

12. Click on Audio.

13. The Name is already filled out. Click the Browse button to add the audio file. Select Original File from under Media Use. Click the Save button.

Click the Save button

14. Click on Back to Site in the upper left of the screen to get to the audio file.

Click on Back to site

The audio file and the audio player are now seen. If the Audio player play button is clicked the file plays.  If the Member of link is clicked, it goes to the main collection.

Now the thumbnail for the audio file can be seen.
