This page explains how to create and manage user accounts as an admin user. This is mainly for people with admin user accounts who will be in charge of managing other user accounts.
1. Make sure you have an admin role which allows you to create accounts in Islandora otherwise please contact help@flvc.org to help with roles or accounts.
2. Login to your Islandora Site
3. Select people from the 2nd row of options in the bar
4.Select Add user either from the drop down or click add user
5. Add in email, user, and a password(A default password works until the user can change it to something unique to them.)
6. Ensure status is set to Active
7. In the Roles option, there are a few choices, for this example we will select Authenticated user. To see all roles and their permissions, visit the Roles and Responsibilities page.
8. Select Create new account
**Best practice is to notify users to a new account; they should also be able to change their password upon first login.
1. To log into your Islandora site, scroll to the top right of your screen and click Log In .
2. Add your username and password and press log in.
Active users should be able to reset their own password from the log-in page.
1. On the login page, select the 'Reset your password' tab and enter either your username or email address on next page then click submit.
2. Upon submission, you will receive an email with a temporary login link that will take you to a page where you can log in and enter a new password.
1. Log in your Islandora Account
2. In the top left of the screen click your username and then click Edit Profile.
3. Once you get to the edit tab, you can change the password, email, etc.
Be sure to click save at the bottom of the screen.
**Only Administrators can change the username.
1. Click "People" in the administrative menu bar of the screen
2. Find the account that needs to be blocked,click edit on the far-right side
3. Under status, select "Blocked"
4. Scroll Down the page and click "Save"

2. Find the account which needs to be unblocked and click edit on the far-right side
3. Under "Status' select "Active"
4. Scroll down and click save
There are four options for canceling an account:
The two above options retain the account in the List view with blocked status. The account can be reactivated by unblocking it. The content referred to is Drupal pages and other Drupal nodes and does not apply to most Islandora operators.

1. Select "People"
2. Find the account and select "Edit" on the far-right side
3. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click "Cancel Account"
4. On the cancellation screen, select the option you prefer and click "confirm"
