FL-Islandora Guide: XIX. How to Add Theses and Dissertations

A guide for FL-Islandora users.

Introduction

Electronic Theses & Dissertations (ETD's) can be loaded using several different methods depending on if the ETD is just a single PDF or if it has supporting files. For a single PDF go to the section below How to load ETDs using only PDF. If the ETD has support file for files go to the section below How to load ETDs using Compound Objects. This page will also have a section on Embargos for ETDs that need an embargo applied. For Embargos go to the section How to add an Embargo to an ETD below. All the sections below will mainly have links to our other FL-Islandora Guide page that deal with each section discussed.

How to load ETD's using PDF's

ETD's can be loaded as a single PDF or a small batch of PDF's. For more information go to this FL-Islandora LibGuide page How to Add PDF's. The page will give information on both how to add a single PDF and how to batch load PDFs.

How to load ETD's using Compound Objects.

If you have an ETD that has supporting files, for example a ETD PDF and a supporting audio file, use the Compound Object. For more information on how to add a Compound Object go to this FL-Islandora LibGuide page How to Add Compound Objects.

How to Add an Embargo to an ETD

If you have an ETD that needs to be restricted to only to users with a defined set of IP Address ranges, then use an Embargo. For more information on how to add an Embargo go to this FL-Islandora LibGuide page Embargos and Access Controls and the section How to Add an Embargo.
