Alma Resource Management Guide

This guide explains all aspects of the cataloging process, including loading, editing, and deleting bibliographic records, holdings records, and item records in Alma.

Suppressing & Unsuppressing Holdings Records

Why Suppress or Unsuppress?

Suppressing a holdings record prevents the items associated with the holdings records from displaying in PrimoVE. Therefore patrons cannot see that the library has the record. It can be useful if the record is still being worked on in the background and needs time before being available to the patron.

Unsupressing is useful for the opposite reason. A record that has been suppressed is now ready for display and ready for patrons to access it
