OER Summit

What past attendees have said about the FLVC OER Summit

  • “I really appreciated the variety. This goes for variety in presenters as well as the avenues to incorporating OER. It was also wonderful that so many of the presenters encouraged participants to reach out to them with questions or to collaborate.”I've attended many national conferences and the OER Summit was as good as any. Thank you!
  • “The exchange of information presented me with classroom strategies.”I plan to come back! One of the BEST Conferences I have ever attended!!!
  • Awesome national presenters and professionally executed conference overall.
  • Excellent speakers, good faculties, and the FLVC staff were awesome.
  • What's not to like? I learned something from every speaker. Great variety!
  • Would highly recommend the conference to others.
  • "My first OER conference was the Florida Virtual Campus OER Summit and found it to be a great conference.  It was small enough to not be overwhelming but still very good."  - Katie Miller, Library Director, Aiken Technical College
  • I was so pleased to see the excitement and passion from Summit presenters and attendees alike for helping their students be successful through the adoption of OER and open educational practices such as open pedagogy.” -Una Daly  Director, Community College Consortium for Open Educational Resources (CCCOER) 2019 Keynote

2021

Over the two days of the summit, we were exposed to great examples from faculty, students, and staff OER leaders.  We heard about building collaborative partnerships, bringing in marginalized and student voices, faculty developing OER, state and national support efforts, library and librarian integrations, and students taking actionable steps to grow OER in FL institutions.  We know that attendees have already begun to use those two days to strengthen and grow collaborations and networks across the state.  If you missed any of our speakers or were unable to attend the Summit, please see:
