Next Discovery Experience (NDE) & Mixpanel Implementation Guide

Mixpanel Sprint Workflows and Checklist

Mixpanel Data Sprint Workflows and Checklist

When we go live with the NDE this summer, we will be using a new tool - Mixpanel - to access discovery statistics and analyses. In order to get ready for the switch the Mixpanel Working Group has been assembled and they are starting to take a look at the out of the box reports and potentially create new ones to be ready by go live. Since the NDE is brand new and no one is live on it yet, there isn't enough data to get a good idea of what the reports really look like - so that is what we are doing today!

During this hour everyone should:

  1. Read - What to expect and what not to do!
  2. Find their institution's NDE view below.
  3. Go through the Workflows.
  4. Go through the Checklist.
  5. Look/click around!

If you have any questions or get stuck, turn on your mic or put your question in the chat!

What to expect and what not to do!

What to expect:
  • The NDE views you are seeing are a work in progress - your discovery specialists/librarians/committees have just started to customize the default view for your institution - we have about 6 more months to get ready!
  • All your data is in the NDE - think of the NDE as a new window to view your data.
  • ExLibris is still working on the NDE - not all features are fully functional at the moment - you can view the timeline for new features here: Available Features, Functionality and Release Plan for NDE UI - Ex Libris Knowledge Center
What not to do:
  • Feel free to take a look at the resource sharing and hold forms but do not submit requests in the NDE view at this time. Scripts that have been created for Primo VE have not yet been added to the NDE views so requests may not work as expected.
