Alma Order-It! Web Plug-In- Quick Ordering from Amazon

The Order It! Plug-in allows you to create a PO line in Alma when on Amazon. The default setting of the plug in creates a brief bibliographic record in Alma and attaches the PO line to it. However, an integration profile can be set up if you would prefer for the plug-in to search first for a record in the Network Zone to add to your Institution Zone for your order. If a record matching the item resource type cannot be found, only then will the plug-in create a brief bib record.

How to add the Alma Order It! Bookmark:

Chrome:

  1. Log into Alma.
  2. Acquisitions > Advanced Tools > Order it! Bookmark.
                                     

Click and drag the “Order It!” button up to your bookmark bar:


Using Alma Order It!

  1. In Chrome, Edge or Firefox browser, Open Alma and log in on one tab, and have Amazon open in another. 
  2. Search for the title that you'd like to buy on Amazon > Click Order It! in the bookmark bar. Assign a PO line owner, PO line type, Material Supplier, Material type and Fund. If you have a PO line template that you use for Amazon orders; you can select one from the "Load from Template" drop-down menu > Create PO line. Once the order is created, a success message will appear. 
  3. In the Alma tab, the page will update to display the newly created PO line with the status of Auto-packaging. Additional edits can be made if needed (interested users, reporting codes, etc.). You may also need to edit the PO line Ordered Items section to change library and location, and add the item policy to the ordered item.
