This site is a resource for the Textbook Affordability and Open Educational Resources (OER) Standing Committee of the FLVC Members Council on Library Services.

Committee Charge

The  Role of the Textbook Affordability and Open Educational Resources Standing Committee:

• To assist and advise the FLVC MCLS regarding creation, development, adoption, and use of affordable textbooks and OER in Florida’s public colleges and universities.
• To collaborate with the Digital Initiatives Standing Committee (Link to Committee found here DISC) and Collection Management and E-resources Standing Committee (Link to Committee found at CMESC) to use existing digital platforms, initiatives, and e-resources collections in support of textbook affordability and OER.
• To identify and share current trends and best practices in textbook affordability and OER, with an emphasis on the role of the academic library.
• To provide recommendations to the MCLS for resources and activities to support textbook affordability and OER initiatives in all FLVC libraries.
• To provide regular reports to the MCLS.

TAOERSC meets every Second Monday of each month at 3pm est/ 2pm cst The meetings of the Textbook Affordability & OER Standing Committee will be held through Teams online collaboration.  Your attendance and participation are critical to the function of this committee. We invite each of you to bring forward agenda items you want this committee to address.
