UBorrow Guide

This guide is the beginnings of comprehensive information about UBorrow and the AlephILL client.

Steps for ReOpening UBorrow - August 31, 2020

Because of library closings due to Covid-19, which began on Mar 17, UBorrow requesting via Mango was disabled, and all lending libraries were asked to stop mailing material, regardless of their closure status, since borrowing libraries may be closed.

Libraries unable to Participate in UBorrow by Aug 31st:

Broward College: Until further notice

Valencia College: tentative Jan 2021

Delivery Service:

TBLC Delivery Service

Mango:

UBorrow  requesting service in Mango reactivated on Aug 31st

Expirations:

Following the Mango patron requesting restart, the two business day lending expiration job will remain off until the decision has been made to reactivate, with input from the Resource Sharing Standing Committee members, and other parties.

Assumptions:

- We ultimately need all in-transit items to be returned back to the lender.  Unfortunately, TBLC will not know which library is the lender, and will send it to the, “Send To” address on the delivery slip. So any material in-transit to the Borrowing library will need to be managed based on the status, see below for details.

- All material requested before March 17th that is not on loan to the patron is no longer needed by the patron.  Any in-transit items will be sent back to the lending library as soon as possible, based on the action for statuses below.

- Items currently on loan are Circulation items and will be handled accordingly.  Due dates have been extended, and upon return will be mailed back to the lender based on the action for statuses below.
