Alma Resource Sharing Guide

This guide explains the various components of FLVC's current resource sharing processes also known as UBorrow.

UBorrow Lending Statuses

UBorrow Lending Statuses

The following statuses indicate that the final step in the request is completed. Requests in these statuses will be deleted.

  • Request completed - this is the final status before removal, and may be manually set.

The following are non-final (in-process) statuses of the request process:

  • Being Processed - the item has been located and is being picked from the shelf.
  • Cancelled - request was cancelled on the borrowing side
  • Conditional - this shows if a request was sent with a Conditional message.  This should not be used.
  • Created Lending Request - appears when a request is manually created - not usually used.
  • Expired - the item has not been picked from the shelf in time and the request has been pushed to the next lender. Do not send this request.
  • Locate failed - this request needs to be manually located due to multiple matches. See instructions here.
  • Overdue Request - this request has been sent to the Borrowing institution and has been away for at least 130 days. Follow up with the Borrowing institution can happen at this time or can wait until the Lost UBorrow report.
  • Received by partner - the item has been scanned in at the Borrowing institution.
  • Returned by partner - the item is intransit back to your library from the Borrowing institution.
  • Shipped physically - the item has been shipped by you but has not yet been received by the Borrowing institution.
  • Staff renewal - should not come into play because our renewals are automated
  • Renewal response - should not come into play because our renewals are automated
  • Patron renewal - should not come into play because our renewals are automated
