HEX encoded links

HEX code URLs and using EBSCO's Proxify Tool

Films on Demand subcollections are an example of a permalink that needs the target URL to be encoded. If the vendor cannot do encoding, we can let them use EBSCO’s Proxify tool - just append the highlighted prefix when you enter the URL:

https://widgets.ebscohost.com/prod/customlink/proxify/proxify.php?count=1&encode=1&proxy=https://go.openathens.net/redirector/fscj.edu?url=&target=https://fod.infobase.com/PortalPlaylists.aspx?wID=20878&xtid=154355

If you put the resource URL that requires hexcode after the highlighted prefix, the highlighed prefix will route it correctly as encoded.

You can often figure them out by looking at others as a model and comparing to the database information in the federated style URL.  I also have a list of troublesome links that make good models for building others.

Encode tool

There is a URL encoding tool for database subcollection URLs - remember that you only encode the platform/resource  URL, not the OpenAthens redirector.
